As a Dragons Youth Player you may not be aware of the support open to you to develop your education within the game. The Club offers players aged 16-21 the opportunity to gain FA approved qualifications in coaching and refereeing football, first aid and child welfare. Any player can be recommended by their Managers and Coaches, particularly those who have shown commitment, a positive attitude and the potential to become Club Ambassadors and role models for younger players.



Below are just some of the courses available at no financial cost to you:

1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Football (QCF) (4D) – 32 hours

FA Futsal – 6 hours

FA Emergency First Aid – 3 hours

The FA Safeguarding Children Workshop – 3 hours

The FA Basic Referee Course (Theory & Practical) – 21 hours

1st4Sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football (QCF) (10D) – 72 hours



There are lots more courses available and you can check them out on the FA or Middlesex County FA websites. As an FA Charter Standard Club, KDFC has a dedicated Charter Standard Coordinator who can help you to organise and book onto courses, arrange for you to complete your coaching practical portfolio by coaching the younger teams, search and provide you with details for career opportunities in sport with support from the local borough council and much more.

Referee youth games in the HYFL. Referees are paid £27 per match

Coach a youth team at KDFC and you may be eligible for coaching expenses

Join the KDFC Summer School coaches in St Marks and you may be eligible for coaching expenses

All courses are certificated and recognised at a national level. You can add them to your CV when seeking employment or applying to College or University


Becoming a Club Ambassador opens the door to dedicated sponsorship opportunities. You can have your own profile on the Club website and your sponsor can cover costs to continue your educational development and also to cover subscription costs and play for KDFC Seniors.
